Hooded Merganser – When choosing a Maryland Bird Taxidermist, Bruce Foster Studio strives for an accurate representation of the clients species. This excellent specimen of a Hooded Merganser was in perfect shape. A properly cleaned and degreased skin is critical for proper feather placement. A hand wrapped body, in house cast bill and head, show the result of custom taxidermy. Perfecting the crest on this stiff tail duck is always a problem for commercial taxidermists. My custom cast heads are sculptured to show off this wonderful feature of a Drake Hooded Merganser. Artificial snow and ice finish this table mount display on a custom Black Walnut base.
